Higgers gives Auckland the Blues
Scott Higginbotham scored two tries to give the Queensland Reds a nail-biting 29-28 win over the Auckland Blues. The win was the Reds first over a New Zealand team since the Highlanders in 2016, and effectively ends the Super Rugby Finals chances of the Blues.
The game was Higginbotham's final home game before he moves to France, and also possibly Samu Kerevi's as well, with a rumoured move to Japan.
Queensland Reds 29 (Tries: Higginbotham 2, Tupou, Hegarty. Conversions: Hegarty 3. Penalties: Hegarty 1) defeated Blues 28 (Tries: Gibson, Tele’a, Pulu 2 Conversions: Black 4) at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane on June 7, 2019. Crowd: 9,677.
